Young people shaping the India they want to live in
Our Jurnery
Youngshala began in 2018 as an initiative created for young people to come together, learn from one another, and grow into more empathetic, aware, and active citizens. What started as small conversations, shared experiences, and collective learning slowly grew into a vibrant youth-led community rooted in dialogue, creativity, participation, and constitutional values. Many of our initiatives were started as simple and engaging tools to help young people learn through fun, conversations, art, storytelling, games, and shared experiences; making learning feel more accessible, participatory, and meaningful.
Many of our initiatives began as simple yet meaningful ways for young people to learn through fun, creativity, and shared experiences. From storytelling circles, art workshops, games, community discussions, and to campaigns, fellowships, reading spaces, and creative learning activities; we wanted learning to feel accessible, joyful, and participatory rather than limited to classrooms or formal spaces. We believe young people learn best when they feel heard, safe, curious, and connected to one another.Over the years, Youngshala has grown into a space where young people not only express themselves freely, but also question systems, engage with social realities, and imagine better futures together. Through conversations around constitutional values, accountability, equality, mental well-being, gender, climate, civic participation, and community leadership, we encourage youth to become active participants in shaping a more just and compassionate society.Based in Bhopal and formally founded as a nonprofit in 2022, Youngshala nurtures young people through civic engagement, leadership, storytelling, art, and community action. At our core, we continue to build safe, inclusive, and participatory spaces where young people from diverse backgrounds can explore, unlearn, reflect, collaborate, and grow; both as individuals and as active citizens.
Mission & Vision
Youngshala aims to nurture young people as thoughtful, confident, and responsible leaders by creating inclusive spaces for learning, dialogue, and active civic engagement. Our vision is to build a society where youth are empowered to lead change, embrace diversity, and actively contribute to a just, inclusive, and democratic future.
